Rho Tau's vaporware post, phases into our dimension!

Ello fellow Goddesses, Goddesses of past, Goddesses of present and Goddesses of the future… all Goddesses; this is the long awaited, long overdue vaporware post from Rho Tau! Each of you, each individual Goddess, IS what makes up our fleet! Not Star Bases, Spires and Mines… Not Fleet Ships, flashy uniforms or shiny new guns… YOU, the individual Goddess ARE our fleet! (me hat is off to each and every one of you!)

The first thing I feel we must establish is:
“There are no enemies here... only friends! That is what makes this so terribly difficult.”

With that said, the next thing has been extremely overdue, a long time coming and about fracking time Rho! Daisy, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to you. You were every bit right in questioning my actions concerning contributions to the Spire when the general consensus of Goddesses’ had agreed to halt funding the Spire and Embassy in favor of the Dilithium Mine and the Star Base. I was wrong for funding Spire projects, regardless of how much I had already contributed to the base and mine. Even though I felt I was operating in the best interests of ALL Goddesses, I can not buy into ‘the end justifying the means.’ I was wrong for not bringing this to all Goddesses, I was wrong for going off on my own, wrong for funding a Spire against the standing wishes of all Goddesses. Especially wrong when I then attempted to ‘justify or defend my actions.’ Daisy, you are every bit an example of what I tell people when quoting Maynard James Keenan, “Think for yourself… question authority!” Good job Daisy! I am sorry Daisy.

Hopefully this comes as humorous! I have actually thought about writing on the bilateral duality that has to result from PVP, where one has to be the loser, in order for there to be a winner, but not specifically the topic of ‘being a sore loser’ ;) I have to admit as well, I did get pissy in our PVP. It really did not matter that me pissyness was from that overwhelming sense of ‘fair play’, I allowed it to control how I was acting, what I was saying and what I was doing. Once again, I am sorry Daisy. Very sorry… I was being an outright BITCH! (not a dog lookin to propagate)

This has been eating at me for some time! I’ve always felt we should at the very least, be friends, and certainly nothing less! Many of you are aware that Thorodal and I do not always see eye to eye on things, but we make every effort to get around, over or ultimately through to the other side, for the common good of the fleet(s) and those we serve in this/those fleet(s). I have nothing but undying respect for Thorodal and always will. WE have learned to work together and very well at that! Thorodal summed up ‘our base building efforts’ best when stating this phrase, “Actually I consider it more of a journey... of the fleet getting together and working for a common goal”, Corayn@thorodal.

The thesis of this post is this: Much like that Vulcan that labored long and hard in his efforts to bring Romulans and Vulcans back together (both the people and the worlds), I am here to try to walk in those great footsteps and state the bold, maybe even to some, the unthinkable or the impossible. I seek Re-Unification of our fleet! At the very least, put an end to the hostilities, the hatred… the pain. (Why no, I’ve not read the Serenity prayer… why do you ask?)

Kendra originally created that fleet (Fae I believe, forgive me if I spelt it wrong, all of my spellcheckers are at their other jobs today) long before this became an issue or a schism. She offered to allow Aidan to utilize it thinking it would provide a place to be, while time allowed things to cool down. Kendra felt it could and would help bring about a reunification, sometime down the road. Thank you very much Kendra, you are a top notch Goddess in my eyes.

I know, at this point, we may never see an abandonment of the new fleets that largely took off after the mass exodus we experienced. Undoubtedly there were many hard feelings, many confused and bewildered and many that wanted to point a finger at something or someone, for being the cause. Aidan sadly seemed to be where many, in our management tier, concluded the finger needed to be pointed. Once Aidan moved from  Goddesses to Fae, we then seen many more follow… depart Goddesses and migrate to that fleet, leaving many of those same leaders to conclude Aidan was coercing people to follow, but this was not the case.

Like many of you have heard me rattle off, a quote from Maynard Keenan, “Think for yourselves… question authority!” I am left to conclude this is more so what happened. Every Goddess has a more than capable driver that does think for themselves. Many Goddesses in the trenches did not feel their needs were being met, or it was too cumbersome or at times just down right impossible to get what they need or wanted. When they are the very entities that have helped build these Fleets, earning fleet credits along the way and finding them to be largely worthless due to current provisional policy. It is hard to understand a problem when we don’t realize there is one. I have the fortune of additional insight that is shared with me, which I honestly found to be critically necessary for me to not only realize there is a problem here, but to clearly understand the problem as well. And I know we can do better as leaders, because I think we have failed the very Goddesses that have built these fleets and even insulted some in the process.

A recent, seemingly innocent suggestion to team both Aidan and Serial for some pew pew extraordinaire, resulted in some in depth discussions, some understanding, some healing and some forgiveness all the way around. It was a colossal step in the right direction. Much has been patched up between fleets. If we’ve yet to arrive at an alliance or allying, we are at the very least no-longer enemies.

Many of you were not there the day Aidan, out of the pain that can ebb from that four letter word Love, felt like she was having salt poured in that open wound, when Ang innocently announced her upcoming DJ show on Pirate Radio. Pirates have been an ally of the Goddesses since before I even became a Goddess, much like FS has become an ally of ours. I sorry but I have to lean in the direction of ‘Freedom of Speech” here, but you know Aidan, I also more than understand your pain, how you felt, and what lead up to that moment. Both parties have an open invitation to meet on my ship, but I also understand that some pain takes longer to subside than others plus we are all unique and require differing amounts of time too. You both know that invitation is always open and that I love you dearly. Guess the Betazoid in me feels the pain my friends are in, when they spat and claw at each other. (Warning: more self diluted diva-isms) Having made every effort to remain neutral in this, but yet clearly understand each person’s perspective, puts me in a position where I can be that bridge or conduit to bring about hopefully some healing. (See? self diluted)

One more thing I would like to mention is how every Goddess is in effect an Ambassador of our Fleet(s) to the general STO public. One thing that always bothered me about ‘slut-fleets’ is how they’d ask everybody and anybody to join their fleet, most times ninja style, with just an invite pop-up, no hello, boo or hey, would a like to join our fleet? As a Goddess over the years, I’ve ‘almost’ never asked anyone if they’d like to join our fleet, instead and like many of you have as well experienced, players come up to us looking to become a Goddess. I myself approached Candy about getting into the fleet. I WANTED to be a Goddess!

With each of us being Ambassadors for our fleets, we should pick a level that demonstrates our faith as leaders in our Goddess’s judgment and empower them with the right to add new members! This would leave only addition of the new Goddess to our cross-factional channel as an administrative task. I know the channel at one point only had 4 or so administrators, but that has been increased substantially, greatly increasing the likelihood of one of us being here to take care of it right away, and if not a fleet mail sent by the ambassador could notify the next administrator to log on, that this person needs to be added to the channel. I remember the day when I asked to be promoted to where I could add members to our fleets.

The following was mostly discussed in our channel, seemingly some time ago now, a proposal for us to do it better!
[1:50] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: Angel, you'll need to agree things with the provisioning officers :) so Ang, Thor, Candy etc. regarding fleet ships. Strickly I think Ang.

[1:50] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: we should revisit that

[1:51] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: under this premise

[1:51] [Goddesses] Candy@Holmes-III: i lost that title when i left the fleet Seri

[1:51] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: the reward for contribuing to the well any growth of the SB is obvious.. Fleet Credits

[1:51] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: Candy, not in my books love.

[1:52] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: but you can decline *hugs* :)

[1:52] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: this proposal will radically change everything... nothin new herre

[1:52] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: but i think how we do it now, well can be improved

[1:52] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: so with the reward being Fleet Credits.. well what do you do with them?

[1:52] [Goddesses] Candy@Holmes-III: the provisions?

[1:53] [Goddesses] Daisy@Col.Potter: credit's aren't that hot if you have to leave the fleet to spend them

[1:53] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: yes

[1:53] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: exactly

[1:53] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: if there are no provisions in place to "balance out" the fleet credits earned.. then in a nutshell they are totaly worthless

[1:54] [Goddesses] Daisy@Col.Potter: i think someone pointed that out once

[1:54] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: well unless ya utilize daisy's method, which what have 'we' accomplished??

[1:54] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: and i am pointing it out again

[1:54] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: you know how stubborn i can be, wehn i think (know) there can be a better way

[1:54] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: :D

[1:54] [Goddesses] Kitten@angel54201: *wants to run fleet stuff*

[1:54] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: hehe Rho.. Stubborn is good :)

[1:55] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: i've always tried to emanate from the premise of 'good for all goddesses'

[1:55] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: Normally I'm all for it Kitten, but I feel so far behind with Favours.

[1:55] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: you have Rho.

[1:55] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: well sand castles wont' get ya caught up too quick ;)

[1:55] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: ((I always try to not take and only give as much as I can, only being on at weekends))

[1:56] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: and, even from the level i am, honestly having to ask permission to be able to utilize the fleet credits 'I've earned'? due to provisional guidelines

[1:57] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: and when I say goddesses, I mean ALL goddesses, once a goddess always a goddess (idk me jus weird)

[1:57] [Goddesses] Daisy@Col.Potter: i don't think the spending was ever the problem. the stocking on the other hand...

[1:57] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: exactly!

[1:58] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: Rho your a Q after my heart :)

[1:58] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: our OUR responsibility as leaders should be to HAVE those provisions in place! (THAT should be the focus of those defined to well, take care of those areas)

[1:58] [Goddesses] Kitten@angel54201: *growls protectively

[1:58] [Goddesses] Daisy@Col.Potter: here here!

[1:58] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: *cuddles Kitten* its ok honey

[1:58] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: and we should not be forcing anyone to have to come ask for permission to utilize the fleet credits they have EARNED

[1:59] [Goddesses] T'Kyr@kyrissis: here here? where where? there there !

[1:59] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: it is insulting from our end and demeaning (sorry spell checkes are off today) added note: Word to the speel chekin rescue!

[1:59] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: Rho. You know goddesses asked for order/government right?

[1:59] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: yes

[1:59] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: and we can have it

[1:59] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: e.g. it was a request, not something planned.

[1:59] [Goddesses] Kitten@angel54201: Rho, I have an exception, I think they should still have to ask for like ships

Here I have to disagree. This is all part of the being demeaning and insulting to those that have EARNED those rewards… I know we do not mean to demean, nor insult ANY of the great goddesses who have contributed so much. Hence my premise that those in charge of fleet provisions should have as their responsibility to make sure those provisions are in place, not be gate keepers. This creates unnecessary and honestly unneeded power struggles, where there should be no power struggles.

Our form of government is democratic in nature, mainly because Serial does see us as all equals, all contributors and all… Goddesses. I know the intent here was/is to get us to work together, not to allow us at each other’s throats.

[1:59] [Goddesses] Daisy@Col.Potter: ships are just provisions

[2:00] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: That will not create pandemonium, but instead well, the very best PR, that we have to have. That we MUST have, if we are going to grow.

[2:00] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: interesting

[2:00] Daisy@Col.Potter taunts T'Kyr. *rho giggles*

[2:01] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: i'm not real sure (don't understand is probably better terminology) the obsession with fleet ships... I'm never gonna find me a Wells destroyer in there I'm betting :)

In other words, personally I am very content with the ships I fly now

[2:01] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: and well everyone knows, of me FS connection

[2:02] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: tam monitors the fleet provisions in a spreadsheet to assure avoidance of shortages

[2:02] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: will blab mo after dancing :)

[2:54] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: another note bout the structure of our provisioning system and why we must improve it

[2:56] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: in our efforts to serve all goddesses, we can inadvertantly end up stepping on toes, in a nutshell end up in internal power sturggles... where struggles should not exist. Where struggles can NOT be!

[2:56] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: nods. I hope we can find the answer everyone can agree too

[2:57] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: if we reorder things so that those responsible for those areas, just make sure there are adequate provisions in place... (and everyone will help with the projects that make this so) but

[2:58] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: not have them be gatekeepers or go to ppl, i mean we all have lives and have to answer to them, thus we can not be responsive to all goddesses at all times, it takes ALL of us :)

[2:59] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: as i mentioned b4 our awesome dance fest, tam tracks the FS provisions via a spreadsheet to track usage, and more importantly make sure there are adequate numbers to create the ratio that should exist

[3:00] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: That ratio between provisions and 'EARNED fleet credits'

[3:01] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: I can't help but feel this has been a major oversight on our part as leaders... trying to maintain order, but ending up insulting and driving off the very ones that make us what we are

[3:02] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: well, Rho.. we where originally freedom loving, but people called for order, and order required law.. and law meant policing =(

[3:02] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: everyone has to be fairly well aware how much this just tears me apart, rips at me very soul, to see us where we are today... but then I get that unique insight, of the world seen through better eyes (not my eyes, referred to here)

[3:02] [Goddesses] Daisy@Col.Potter: i dunno if you need spreadsheets. just someone in charge of projects who understands projects and stays on top of provisions

[3:03] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: and she tells me, it will survive, it will move forward and it will continue to live.

[3:03] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: we may not, but you should see the way kewl graphs she generates ;)

[3:03] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: but yes, you are absolutely right daisy, they must be maintained at the levels that balance out to EARNED credits... otherwise we are failing as leaders!

[3:05] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: and of course, stocking provisions means a slow down in base progression, but in the bigger circle of things, can anything progress when no one is there to contribute?

A quick side note here: I know the primary focus of the consensus is to slot projects that give 1200 exp points, for a more rapid progression of the base. There are projects that offer up 500 exp points and stock provisions. Fully aware this will mean a slow down in base progression, but can’t help but think this is a critical necessity. To provide what our members deserve, what they’ve earned. As far as the dilithium only projects, I in no way shape or form advocate for these… they are a blatant waste of an oh so precious commodity, that can be undoubtedly be utilized in much better places.

[3:05] [Goddesses] tami@mikiy: http://i.imgur.com/HCk3pRW.jpg

[3:05] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: thank you tami

[3:05] [Goddesses] Daisy@Col.Potter: yeah but if you have provisions you can visit a friend's base

[3:05] [Goddesses] tami@mikiy: and we've actually moved away from producing em at need and produce em without need now

[3:06] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: your presence is not only always welcome here, but so very much appreciated

[3:06] [Goddesses] tami@mikiy: the thing is.. when you buy doffs at base (common doff, random type) you get tons more science doffs then anything else

[3:06] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: exaclty daisy

[3:06] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: that was my big push behind the spire

[3:07] [Goddesses] tami@mikiy: so when i go to our base to fill in those 462 doffs (154 of each type) i usually get a ton more science doffs then i need

[3:07] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: getting us to T1, getting some provisions in place so we could utilize our long standing invitation to FS (or any other starbase) and have the best of both worlds!

[3:08] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: and if those ratios hold across the board, then they don't sell for crap on the exch

[3:08] [Goddesses] tami@mikiy: so on average when i fill doffs i end up buying like 600-700 doffs so to get rid of all the science doffs filling up my doff roster (and to get fleet credits back) i just slot tons of provisions

[3:08] [Goddesses] tami@mikiy: projects and fill those too to, as side effect while leveling the base up

[3:09] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: Dedicates this Disco Ball to Kendra Birthday Mortal

[3:10] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: well gurls, fellow goddesses.. my friends, i couldn't help but think we need this, we need to heal, we need to move forward (i have not given up hope of resolving mistakes our friends have made

[3:10] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: between each other though)

[3:11] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: still, it does seem like we can do this better.. i know we can, we must!

[3:11] [Goddesses] tami@mikiy: its not like filling the base is hard anyway, commodities just cost cash, xp most people have millions anyway, dilithium is easy to grind in the battlezone and if you make a group and go to defera

[3:12] [Goddesses] tami@mikiy: you'll make 1200 fleet marks (with 5 people) within a couple minutes

[3:12] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: absolutely

[3:12] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: what did we do in under an hour the other day with just 4 of us?

[3:12] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: ((it feels to me like everyone moved on already.)) I just think everyone needs their own worlds, because Q are so amazing *giggles*

[3:12] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: *bows to tam*

[3:16] [Goddesses] Kendra@dgreiwe1985: back

[3:18] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: need to trot for a bit gurls, but I've capped both these soapbox sessions and will put it in a post for our forum thingie

[3:18] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: thanks Rho *hugs*

[3:18] [Goddesses] Serial@DoggyDude: you always are Awesome Sauce :)

[3:18] [Goddesses] Rho Tau'@P.J.Phry: and one more thingie, will probably elaborate on this, but like we all know, there are no enemies involved in all this, just friends :)

So let us start leading out of compassion, understanding and respect, because the reality is, all Goddesses ARE important and do deserve our very best. You all hold a special place in my heart, each and every one of you.

This is Rho Tau,
signing off.
